We have heard your concerns and challenges around completing Qualifying Events. Due to these concerns as well as CDC guidelines, we made the decision to waive Qualifying Events for plan year 2021.
This was a difficult decision because we firmly believe in the importance of preventive care. Cheri Coryea, County Administrator, said, “I would likely not be here today had it not been for the preventative care and the Qualifying Events”. So, while QE is being waived, we highly encourage you to take an active role in your health and make appointments to complete preventive care and attend to any other health concerns as soon as the CDC indicates that it safe for you to do so.
As a reminder, if you experience an urgent health issue, please seek appropriate care. Many local providers are offering telehealth options. If you believe you've been exposed to COVID-19, contact the Manatee Health Line at (941) 242-6649 before seeking treatment or traveling to any physician's office, emergency department, hospital or urgent care center.
